Orange County Alumni Spotlight – Travis Wilson

Congratulations to starting Quarterback, Travis Wilson (2012 San Clemente High School graduate) and the Utah Utes for the season opening win against in-state rival Utah State. Wilson showed his leadership and athletic ability in the 30 – 26 win. Wilson ended the night with 17 for 28 and 302 yards passing and 2 TDs. (174.9 rating).

2013 ASICS Triton Invitational Results

Newport Harbor senior Marty Taylor took two first place finishes in the shot put and discuss. Taylor broke the meet record with a throw of 59-7.5 throw. Eight of the Twelve titles handed out at the National Scholastic Surfing Association’s State Team Tournament held on March 10th were from Orange County. Colin Moran of Newport Harbor High and Lulu Erkeneff of Dana Hills High are the Men’s and Woman’s champions and Mason Klink of San Clemente High is the longboard champ.

Yoder Named MVP

San Clemente senior Lucas Yoder was named tournament MVP in the Best of the West Volleyball tournament held in Poway on March 9th. Yoder was also named volleyball athlete of the week by OC Varsity. San Clemente High School claims it’s second CIF championship in just three seasons. Junior midfielder, Alek Cuck scored in the the 20th minute to make the score 1-0 over Servite in the CIF-SS Division Championship game on March 2. San clemente has won 30 games with 21 shutouts – both are school records.
