New National Pole Vault Record Set

Northwest High School (Justin, TX) senior Desiree Freier set the new national pole vault record at the Texas Relays. Freier, who stands just 5 feet tall and is a University of Arkansas commit, reached the record vault of 14 feet, 3.25 inches on her first attempt, breaking the old record of 14 feet, 2.75 inches.

Elise Cranny of Niwot, CO Runs Top 800 in Nation

Elise Cranny has back-to-back cross-country state tiles and a state record for the mile. Last week Cranny ran the 800 meters in the Mt. Sac Relays finishing 1st in the 800 and the fastest in the country with a time of 2 minutes and 4.81 seconds. Cranny is headed to Standford in the fall.
