JSerra’s meet-record 400-yard freestyle relay on March 23rd at the Millikan Southern Section girls relays is currently the second fastest time in the nation for 2013. Newport Harbor’s Taylor Takes First Again!

Marty Taylor won the shot put and discus titles for the fourth straight time in last weekends event at the Beach Cities Invitational at Huntington Beach High. Taylor is the state leader in the shot put and he has set a new meet record with a winning distance of 59 feet, seven inches.

Senior Max Kilkuts scored his second goal into the sudden death overtime to seal the win with a 4-3 victory. The Eagles beat last year’s national Champions, Regis Jesuit of Colorado to take the USA Hockey High School Boys’ Varsity National Championships in Coral Springs, Fla.

Mykkanen Breaks Two School Swimming Records

Foothill freshman Courtney Mykkanen broke two school records in a recent victory at El Modena in Century League action. Mykkanen’s time of 2:06.29 seconds in the 200-yard individual medley was more than a second faster than Megan Logan’s 1990 school record of 2:07.5. Junior midfielder, Alek Cuck scored in the the 20th minute to make the score 1-0 over Servite in the CIF-SS Division Championship game on March 2.
