Pitcher JB Bukauskas of Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, Virgina, is throwing some heat! At a recent game, there were more than 20 MLB scouts with radar guns. With every pitch from Bukauskas, the scouts’ radar guns were recording throws of 96, 95, 96 mph. The 17-year-old Bukauskas’ recent performance of a blistering fastball, biting slider and a batter-freezing change-up finished the game with 11 strikeouts for the second time this season.
Bukauskas recently signed with North Carolina to play at the next level, but experts are expecting him to be chosen as early as the first or second round in the MLB draft.
