SMCHS Performing Arts Presents A Christmas Collage Featuring “A Charlie Brown Christmas”

 

Santa Margarita Catholic High School Performing Arts proudly presents: A Christmas Collage featuring “A Charlie Brown Christmas” this Sunday, December 9th from 3:30-6:30pm in the Moiso Pavilion. Come see over 250 SMCHS performers celebrate the joy of Christmas in a spectacular production of dance, music, and drama.

Santa Margarita Catholic High School proudly offers the highest quality in Performing Arts education. The students are engaged in creative, thought-provoking, and artistic aspects of each discipline regardless of ability and experience. SMCHS’ comprehensive performing arts program allows the students to explore their creativity, celebrate the arts and share their talents with the community.

The Award-Winning Talon Theatre Program is an Educational Theatre Community within the Performing Arts Department of Santa Margarita Catholic High School. Courses from beginning through advanced levels in acting, musical theatre, technical theatre, design and IB Theatre are offered within the school day. In addition to the comprehensive training available to students, Talon Theatre produces two main stage productions annually – a fall drama or comedy and a spring musical. Encore, a song and dance touring group, performs throughout the year at SMCHS events and in the community. Talon Theatre Thespian Honor Society Members have the opportunity to attend the California State and International Thespian Festivals. Talon Theatre participates in the Orange County Cappies Critic and MACY programs.

Additional extra-curricular training is offered through the Talon Academy of Performing Arts (TAPA). An individualized mentorship and coaching program that is available for students planning to continue their theatre studies in college. Talon Theatre alumni have gone on to some of the most prestigious college theatre programs in the country and many have gone on to professional careers in theatre, film, and television.

Prior to this Sunday’s Christmas Program, the Talon Theatre performed, The Miracle Worker by William Gibson, the inspiring true story of the relationship between Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan. The next production will be Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Time Rice. Beauty and the Beast will debut April 18-21 in the Eagle Dome.
